us at the darfur olympics
On August 8, China and the Olympic sponsors will kick off
the Beijing Olympics. As the Games approach, please
join me in declaring that we will not forget the people
suffering in Darfur.
Join
the campaign to help keep the spotlight on Darfur
To keep the spotlight on Darfur during the Games, we
are collaborating with Dream for Darfur to webcast the
"Darfur Olympics:" daily alternative programming
during the first week of the Games.
Help
keep the spotlight on Darfur by signing up to watch
the "Darfur Olympics"
The "Darfur Olympics" will include exclusive
video footage and reports by Mia Farrow from a Darfurian
refugee camp, and exclusive clips about the conditions
there and the desperate need for action. In addition
to this powerful video footage, there will be background
reports and daily opportunities for action.
To kick off the week of action, Dream for Darfur is
airing an "Alternative Opening Ceremony" on
August 8 featuring musicians like R.E.M., Talib Kweli,
Carly Simon, and many more who have donated music videos
to Darfur.

For over five years, the Sudanese government -- backed
by China, its closest ally -- has been responsible for
the genocide in Darfur that has murdered more than 300,000
people and caused over 2.5 million to flee their homes.
Please join us August 8 - 15 for this alternative programming
and send a message to China and the Olympic corporate
sponsors that the people of Darfur must not be forgotten.
