Brother of Official Killed in Al-Geneina

A man was shot and killed near a market in Al-Geneina at 8.15 PM on the evening of March 17, 2007. The victim, whose name is not confirmed, is known to be the brother of Hussein Derjal, the former district administrator of Habeela-kejengessy (also known as Habila), a town approximately 100km south of Al-Geneina.

The man was killed outside of the Al-Ardibaya market by four janjaweed militia members, according to two witnesses who asked to remain anonymous.
